Psychoanalysis as a body of knowledge, particularly within the fields of clinical and academic practice, televises a fortitude of knowledge that can be used for the betterment of a social and communal good. Analogous to Lacan’s return to Freud’s scientific project, Cantarini liberates tango as a Socratic knowledge, with her unique approach that humanizes and transmits the singularity of the subject. The ethics and transmission of Lacanian psychoanalysis and tango will be explored within the historical context of Buenos Aires and the San Francisco Bay Area.
