S2: A Feminist Meets Lacan in a Techno-Scientific Dungeon

Discerning that the master in Lacan’s four discourses is patriarchal in nature and commands the subject to enjoy surplus jouissance, this seminar will take a careful gaze at the capitalist discourse as regressively matriarchal in nature. Conjoining Lacanian psychoanalytic theory, topology, semiotics, and the exodus of a joke, this presentation will examine leading signifiers in Western culture, namely: pornography, technology and science.
Discretion advised: this seminar will contain nude images related to Cantarini’s collaboration and curatorship with artist Pablo Corral Vega.
