Your profile & the directory
How to set your photo, bio, and contact details, and control who sees what.
Your profile is how colleagues, prospective analysands, and the public find and recognize you across the School’s site. It already carries what we imported from the directory—this guide shows you how to make it yours.
Editing your profile
Open Edit Profile from the account menu (top right), or go straight to your profile editor. Everything saves together when you press Save changes.
Your photo
Your photo appears as a circle in the directory, on the pages of events you teach, and across the site. Click Choose photo…, then drag and zoom so your face and shoulders fill the ring—the guide overlay shows you the frame. We store a clean square crop, so the same photo looks right everywhere.
Already have a photo you like? You can leave it. Use Re-center / zoom to adjust the existing one without re-uploading.
Your bio and details
Write a short bio in the first person. You can also set credentials, languages, location (which places you on the Find-an-Analyst map), and the areas you work in. Keep it to a few sentences—this isn’t a CV.
Who sees what
Beside each field is a small visibility control with three settings:
- Public—anyone, signed in or not.
- Members only—signed-in members of the School.
- Private—staff and you.
The master switch, List me in the public member directory, controls whether you appear in the directory and the map at all. We list members by default so people can find you, but it’s yours to turn off.
What to do now
Add a photo and a short bio, then save. That’s enough to feel the difference—you can refine the rest any time.
